These minutes were recorded by Ruth Phelps and approved by the Board at the March 13 board meeting:


The Southeast Neighbors met at Spencer Butte Middle School
in the little theater. Board members present were:
President, Kevin Mathews, Vice President, David Monk,
Treasurer, Milt Krueger, Secretary, Ruth Phelps, Bob Diskin,
Sherry Greening and Bob Rosen. Among the attendees were City
Councilors, Betty Taylor and Gary Rayor, Police Officer, Ken
Saxon, Liaison for the city, Beth Bridges and Professor Bart
Johnson from the UofO and guest speaker Therese Walch.
There were approximately 37 attendees altogether.

Kevin opened the meeting by introducing Professor Bart
Johnson whose UofO students are working on plans again of
Tugman Park. The students will draw plans to clean water
flowing through the park and make suggestions about planting
the area. Bart hopes to have input from residence at the May
General Meeting whenthe students display their ideas.

The guest Therese Walch showed slides of the Stormwater
Basin Plan and spoke of the planned projects for Eugene
area. There are seven stormwater basins and welive in the
Amazon basin. The plan encompasses flood control, quality
of water, protection and restoration of openwaterways.

School Board Election. Tom Hermann spoke very briefly of his
qualifications for the schoolboard election and had some
literature to hand out.

Kevin suggested that especially anyone wishing to be elected
to the board in May, start by attending the next two board

Meeting was adjourned at 8:55pm.
