The article by Margaret Robertson is not accurate. There are still some surviving Kalapuya natives. Please check with Esther Stutzman in Yoncalla. Also the Linguistic stock is Penution. Perhaps by reading The Kalapuya of Clackamas County by Oscar Johnson, reporter for smoke signals would be helpful. There are still a few words of Kalapuya left. Thye have been preserved in stone throughout Alton Baker Park in Springfield and Eugene. There are many factual errors in this article.
